Favorite in a Historic Neighborhood
This is one of my favorite houses located in the Encanto-Palmcroft Historic Neighborhood. I love the southwestern style of this house and the colors. I see this house very often because it is located next to a main thoroughfare in Phoenix and right on my path to and from the Phoenix downtown area. I love it.
Explanation: Thank you all for the wonderful comments on my photo yesterday. After reading many of them, I thought I might owe you an explanation. I was perfectly safe when flying on that refueling mission. The bubble on the bottom of the plane is solid and surrounded by a huge glass window so the arm operator can see what she is doing. I was securely inside the plane. The plane was in fact another jet so it couldn't have been open to the outside. The only tricky thing about it was actually crawling into the space but, once you are down there, it is perfectly comfortable. There was the added bonus of being able to wave at the fighter jet pilot! And, he waved back!

These are very warm colors.
Todays shot looks like and entrance to a Disney ride... sort of. Why do I think this?????????
That's a beautiful house. This type of architecture and the colors make me miss living in the Southwest.
I've been inside once when an artist that lived there was having a sale. Interesting design.
Now this really makes me homesick.... I can see why it is a favorite. Beautiful southwest colors and design.
super beautiful
Yes, I was indeed impressed with your photo yesterday, and I am impressed also with the house you photographed.
It really is an unusual house Sharon, I like the side staircase!! Even though you were 100% safe yesterday, I still think you were brave to do it, no way could I!!
It is an outstanding house, with good architecture and warm colors. I would not be happy with many Southwestern homes, because my preferred palette for nature is green, not brown, but this one is warm and inviting -- and is surrounded by green.
I remember this house! BTW, did you go to the Encanto-Palmcroft tour this spring? (Waving at the pilot of the other plane was an added bonus for your refueling adventure!)
The thing that really starts my motor is the staircase to...upstairs, roof? From this angle it is just gorgeous!
Hope the dust storm didn't mess things up for you too much! Not fun!
I love it too - have to win a lottery! Just heard about the dust on the news - hope it wasn't too awful for you.
I loved that house when we lived in Phoenix too and the entire Encanto-Palmcroft area.
I've somehow gotten behind in commenting on posts. I am working my way backwards and now can't wait to see yesterdays' post!
I love, love this stairway. It's beautiful.
I think this might be one of my favourites too. Love it.
I can see why it is one of your favorite houses....
Just fantastic. I love the colors, light and shadow.
Bonjour!
J'aime beaucoup cette construction!!
