Theme Day: Yellow

What a perfect time of year for the color yellow. The Palo Verde trees are in full bloom at this moment so yellow is a predominate color along our streets and highways. The top picture is a close up view of the yellow flowers being enjoyed by a local bumble bee.

The small photo gives you an idea of how the Palo Verde tree is used for landscape design along our highways. The tree’s quick growth and low water needs make it ideal.

Tomorrow I’ll show you what I found when scouting around for good Palo Verde tree shots.

What a gorgeous tree - up close and personal and also seen from a distance. Beautiful and perfect for today.

Great choice for yellow theme day to show some of the yellow that accents the Sornoran desert.

Very yellow! The air must be full of sweet scents right now. But that bee looks huge!

Lovely yellow. Good to see you have healthy bumble bees. Seems they are becoming rndangered.

I miss the palo verde trees. They look so beautiful when they're blooming. One started growing in my yard in Tucson - it was like a thin little green stick - and in two short years, it was huge! Speaking of huge, that bee looks enormous!

I've never heard of those trees either. Very pretty! They must really brighten up the city.

Love Pala Verde trees. Planted one many years ago by a horse corral and it now has a good few "children" on our five Southern California acres. Never water them.

Palo Verde is a tree? The things one learns in CDP! And such a delicate yellow tree too — beautiful choice for theme day!
