The Bakery from Down Under

I discovered this place when I was walking to meet friends for dinner at a Scottsdale restaurant.  It's called The Great Australian Bakery.  That cute little flag-draped kangaroo stopped me in my tracks.

I checked their menu.  It looks like they specialize in pasties, meat pies and something called a bacon-cheese Brekkie.  Do any of those sound familiar to my Australian friends?

Brekkie is a term for Breakfast in England so I s'pose it means the same in Australia. Made of bacon and cheese I bet is is a Breakfast item.

Brekkie is my favourite meal Sharon.. but not so sure about a bacon and cheese brekkie πŸ˜€ you will have to pop in and have a meat pie, that's very Aussie πŸ˜€

It all sounds good but not necessarily healthy, Sharton! Love the Roo!

Sounds like a bacon and cheese wrap to me and no us English don't eat things like that for brekkie, we would have a full English. Can't vouch for those from OZ they are an odd lot ;))

I hope that roo didn't ruin your dinner! :) It and child are very cute. And I think that one of these days when you're feeling Aussie you get yourself back out that way and find out firsthand what this stuff is and what it tastes like. :))

Sounds like an Australian version of an egg McMuffin!
