When I was at the garden a week ago, I saw lots of 'critters' out and about. In the outdoor cafe area, there were quail everywhere. They were skittering around under all the tables looking for crumbs. Mom and Pop here were watching it all.
This little antelope squirrel was digging around in one of the planters. This was also in the patio cafe area so I'm sure he was looking for bits of food too.
To my surprise this little verdin stopped by in the tree near me. I have never had much luck photographing verdin because they never sit still long enough. This one was practically posing for me. How lucky is that?
Finally, here is a white-winged dove that was hiding out between the arms of a cactus. It was all by itself, just relaxing in the shade. Between the animals and the plants, I found lots to keep me entertained.
I have a new post on
Sharon's Sojourns today. I was inspired to look once again at Venice.
The birds in the 1st photo are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteNature is putting a spectacular display for you.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures of the birds. It is always difficult to make a photo, they never sit without moving...:)

ReplyDeleteAn outing abundant with critter sightings! It's amazing that birds and other animals are comfortable sitting on the needles of cacti! The color of the verdin's head is such an unusual shade. Great capture
ReplyDeleteI like this biodiversity in animals, everything is not lost, the DBG is working on it.
