This is a mural that has been up on the side of a hotel building in downtown Phoenix for a very long time. In fact, I'm so used to seeing it that I forget it's there. The signature on it says "Soldier Leisure Productions" but I happen to know the artist's name is Andy Brown. He has many murals all over the valley. Many of them are painted from this 'up-above' point a view but he also has quite a few that have faces and some with geometric patterns. Along with the art work, he also owns a street clothing company that goes by the name Soldier Leisure or sometimes Sleisure. He's a pretty talented fellow!
Taking part in Monday Murals.
Very unusual. And great.
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty one!
ReplyDeleteAn unusual top view of the cyclists.
ReplyDeleteThanks for participating in Monday Murals.
Andy Brown was thinking outside of the box when he painted this mural.
ReplyDeleteShould be a good city for bikes, when it isn't 110 degrees
ReplyDeleteI really like that one, Sharon!
ReplyDeleteI do like it.
ReplyDeleteHe's a very enterprising young man Sharon, I've seen some of his other street art, so good!
ReplyDeleteVery nice work, well done and beautiful.
ReplyDeleteInteresting perspective!
ReplyDeleteIn keeping with yesterday's theme, you might say this is a "birds-eye" view. :-)
ReplyDeleteVery different.
ReplyDeleteQuite creative.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun perspective!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the background on the artist - it must be delightful to be able to
recognise his work when you encounter it around town as it's so distinctive.

I love his POV. I also find he's a very talented artist. Nice to know his background, too.
ReplyDeleteInteresting perspective. He's got talent, for sure
ReplyDeleteI think in a very short time it will be known as 'drone's eye view'
ReplyDelete"Up above" often a greater view than down on the ground ;-)
