Theme Day: Park
Phoenix has a lot of parks and I've feature photos from most of the big ones. However, Phoenix doesn't have a lot parks with lots of green grass. Since we live in a desert, most of our parks reflect that dryer, desert look. Steele Indian School Park, right in the heart of Phoenix is an exception to that rule. This one has lots of green-clad, rolling hills and a pretty water feature.
And, looking in the other direction, a view of the high-rise buildings in the mid-town business district. Central Avenue is the dividing line between east and west Phoenix and this park sits right on Central Avenue and Indian School Road. Pretty much in the center of town.
As many of you know, the first of the month is the day most city daily photo bloggers create a post base on a selected theme. Today's theme is park. If you follow this link, you can see posts from other cities around the globe.

A very beautiful green park Sharon, perfect for the theme !
I love parks to walk through and enjoy the nature.
Wonderful views.
That must be a very welcome oasis in the Phoenix desert landscape!
be well... mae at maefood.blogspot.com
A lovely shot of green for you desert dwellers, Sharon!
Looks like a golf course!
Oh that must be a welcome sight on a hot summer day Sharon, does it use bore water to keep it so green through the hot weather?
Beautiful park, Sharon. I had the same thought as Steve, I thought it looked like a golf course.
Whoa! Now that has to take some effort -- not to mention water.
So rewarding to see so much green in Phoenix.

Beautiful! Love that first shot!
This much green in a desert is almost confusing to the eye. But then there's actually a golf course in Death Valley, so it's not really an anomaly.
I believe this is the greenest space I've seen here. : )
That is the greenest Phoenix place that I think I have ever seen.
