There is a bar on Roosevelt Row called The Theodore and the front of it has been painted with a mural of Theodore himself. Since this is on Roosevelt Street it seems appropriate to have a bar named for the street's namesake, Theodore Roosevelt. The mural was painted by Tato Caraveo. Remember him? He's the guy who paints the murals with people with big heads. The last one I posted is
here.
Is that pigeon's hat the gentleman's?right?
ReplyDeleteUwielbiam murale a ten jest wspaniały.
ReplyDeleteIt is not Roosevelt's best portrait I am afraid.
ReplyDeleteGrand mural, I bet you had a meeting with Taken For Granted today :-)
ReplyDeleteFirst time I have seen Teddy with a long face.
ReplyDeleteI like it a lot, Sharon! Love the bird .
ReplyDeleteNice find Sharon, I specially like the bird :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for contributing.
Theodore Roosevelt? I think that's a first for modern murals. I hope Trump doesn't succeed in getting him off Mt. Rushmore, but at least this will remain! (Yes, Trump did post a video where the 4 heads were removed from Rushmore and replaced with only him).

Don't know the artist, but I just got through reading about Teddy's 1912 run for the White House. It wasn't as nice as this mural.
ReplyDeleteHa, we posted photos of this same mural today. Great minds must think alike.
ReplyDeleteThe pigeon is a nice touch!
ReplyDeleteNicely done mural, I like it.
ReplyDeleteSmall world, isn't it, you and TFG posting the same thing on the same day.
ReplyDeleteTato is certainly a gifted artist, though this is a pretty stylized Teddy. I like it.
ReplyDeleteNot sure I would have recognized him.
