It's the first day of the month again and time for City Daily Photo bloggers to post a photo based on a chosen theme. Today's theme is Municipal Building.
Since I've already shown you our City Hall building several times before, I chose the Maricopa County Courthouse, a historic building what at one time many years ago also served as our city hall. It's a gorgeous building that sits in a prominent location in downtown Phoenix.
Just look at these gorgeous light fixtures that hang on either side of the doors. You have to admit those are beautifully designed. If you look closely you will see that they are lighted with the new energy efficient light bulbs too.

I have a new post on Sharon's Sojourns today. I'm thinking fondly of the city of Milan and hoping they are coping with the disruption of the coronavirus.
The County Courthouse is fabulous Sharon, wonder when it was built, it looks decidedly Art Deco to me, what do you think? Fantastic for the theme 💙
ReplyDeleteThe detail on things in the past is so wonderful, Sharon. That is a great building!
ReplyDeleteI love the light fixtures! How old is the building, do you know? Looks kind of Art Nouveau or Art Deco -- 1910s or 1920s, maybe?
ReplyDeleteActually I never really pay attention to this building other than for it's function and now I wonder why, it's wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI looked it up, it was building in 1928.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful old building. They don't make like that anymore

That is a beautiful building, Sharon. The light fixtures are absolutely gorgeous with lots of detail.
ReplyDeleteDarn! Sorry I missed it. I could have shown you our, ahem, architectural wonder. Another time maybe. :)
ReplyDeleteI used to love that old building. It speaks of Arizona in an earlier time.
ReplyDeleteThat is a serious looking civic building, and you are right about those gorgeous light fixtures. BTW the Caravan car vending machine is in south Scottsdale on the east side of the river. We did enjoy our time in Phoenix. Always a new adventure every day, friendly people, and super food available.
ReplyDeleteIt is a beautiful old building and I do love those light fixtures!
ReplyDeleteStunning, elegant.
ReplyDeleteIt's dramatically different from the city hall. They're both gorgeous in their own ways. The light fixtures are fabulous.
ReplyDeleteHow old is the building? The light fixture suggests to me almost art nouveau or art deco.
