I had friends over for dinner at my house Friday night and I thought I'd pick up some flowers at the grocery store while I was shopping. I was surprised to see orchid stems among the flowers for sale so I picked up a stem. It added just the right touch.
The next morning I decided that I should photograph these beauties so I got out the black drop cloth and took a few shots. Such pretty blooms. I hope they last for several days!
I have a new post on
Sharon's Sojourns today. I'm visiting the stunningly beautiful Chihuly Garden and Glass.
I got an orchid plant a few weeks ago, but it is very difficult to care for it the right way. It is losing its flowers and looks a bit sad now....:(
ReplyDeleteThese are so nice I thought they were faux! :) And nice photos, too. You're good with the black drop cloth. Sorry I missed dinner. I must have misplaced my invitation. :)
ReplyDeleteMy orchid is blooming now. The flowers last for weeks so hopefully yours will too!
ReplyDeleteOrchids are notoriously hard to grow, so I was surprised to find what looked like orchids growing wild in Oregon. Not sure what they were but they were so lovely. Yours are big and beautiful and you made a pretty picture with them.
ReplyDeleteAren't they exquisite! I have three sitting on my kitchen windowsill, they last for absolutely ages!
ReplyDeleteThey are pretty!
ReplyDeletePretty looking flowers. They add so much beauty to everything and are great to look at. Very nice photo!
ReplyDeleteLovely flowers! you did well to pair them with a black background, it makes them standout more.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! It's hard to find anything wrong with an orchid.
ReplyDeleteThey are very pretty, Sharon !
ReplyDeleteLovely, Sharon. Isn't it remarkable the kind of flowers we can get at grocery stores these days?
