Lime Bike
I spotted this brightly painted bike on Saturday when I went for a walk at the Scottsdale Civic Center Park. It's a bike share bicycle by a company called Lime Bike. Scottsdale has opted to allow different bike share companies to operate in the city instead of sanctioning just one company.
I looked this one up to see how it operates. You use an "app" on your smart phone to locate an available bike then you scan it and off you go. You can leave it anywhere that a bike is allowed to be parked. Interesting concept.

That is so cool, won't miss seeing that bike
The colours make it highly visible.
Clever city.
Would be hard to steal... Good.
It's a very nice bike and bike sharing is a good idea !
Very eye-catching bike! I saw a similar system in Cambridge -- yellow bikes that you rent with an app. It blows my mind that bikes can be left standing around without a lock of any kind! Or do they not pedal without being scanned?
It's a fantastic idea Sharon.. and there will be no mistaking as to which bike hire firm these bikes belong to!
A bike share company here has just about the same colours, but I think they're now done for the season.
I remember lime popsicles so I wouldn't know whether to lick this thing or ride it. I do hope the program works, though. In some places it has gone bust either for lack of riders or stolen bikes.
I like that idea. Not sure I'd want to ride one on the streets though. But a nice bike path would be very tempting.
It is amazing to me that you can just leave them anywhere. Must be some system that the pedals lock!
What a great program, I like it. The bike wouldn't be hard to find at all.
That color certainly stands out. What a good idea!
Lucky you, finding such a vibrant bike. I'm not sure that business model works. I think the ones that require bikes to be returned to designated spots have better control.
