The last house on the home tour was even further out than the one I featured yesterday and the day before. It was six miles further out and was right near the city of Scottsdale's border with the town of Carefree. And, it was located in a special gated community that hasn't yet been built out so the houses were far apart. We took so many turns on the road to get here we were worried about finding our way out. This house was built in a U-shape with the pool area in the center at the back of the house.
The front featured a nice courtyard with some great tile work around the front door.
There was also a beautiful tiled fountain to one side.
I liked some of the little decorator items that were scattered around the property.
One of the attendants at the house asked it I had a telephoto on my camera. I told her yes and she pointed far out into the desert and asked if I could zoom in on a bird that was sitting on top of a saguaro cactus. I did and we determined that it was a hawk of some kind.
This photo is the heavily cropped version of my zoomed photo. This bird was way out there.
My youngest daughter and I would each have to have one of those big pink flamingo floats in the pool!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to be able to say I lived in Carefree!
The courtyard at front has a lot of charm.
ReplyDeleteNice place to visit, good to see the bird keeping an eye on things
ReplyDeleteDefinitely hawk-like. He's probably thinking, what are these people doing on my turf?!
ReplyDeleteThe place almost looks like a fancy resort hotel in the first picture.
ReplyDeleteRe the house: how do you say "restrained elegance"? Love it. And I love the bird...looks like some kind of hawk with which I would not want to have a disagreement!
ReplyDeleteRe your comment on Ocala: Thanks! You're the only one who mentioned "Auntie Mane." I thought that was kinda clever. You must be just as smart as I am. Or vice versa! :))
The pool is a welcome sight to see!
ReplyDeleteIt's a beautifully designed house Sharon.. love the idea of the central courtyard with the pool accessible from all sides.. the pink flamingo is very popular this year, there's one floating in my pool too 😊 Definitely a hawk of sorts, that beak is a bit of a giveaway sign!
ReplyDeleteThe house is another beauty. I like the pool area out back, it looks like a great place to relax. I also like the hawk sitting atop the cacti and keeping an eye on things.
ReplyDeleteToo big a house for me!
ReplyDeleteThis house is magnificent! I do love the tile work. Good job zooming in on that hawk!
ReplyDeleteMust be nice to have a pool like that in AZ. Love that you caught the bird!
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful homes and landscapes you've showed these last days !
ReplyDeleteSome of these house look more like showcases rather than homes.
ReplyDeleteVery fine, isn't it? I wouldn't want a pool in an interior courtyard. Yes, it provides privacy, but I always interpret it as being a bit pretentious.
