Surprising Retail Encounter
When I was in North Scottsdale a few weeks ago meeting a friend at the Scottsdale Quarter shopping center, I happened upon this store that I thought at first was some type of grand restaurant. It had such an elegant exterior with a large gate across the entrance and a valet-like attendant that I thought for sure this was an expensive club of some sort. It turns out to be a Restoration Hardware store.
There used to be a Restoration Hardware store at Biltmore Fashion Park several years ago and it looked nothing like this place. It was small and featured mostly small items and all kinds of hardware you might use to restore some old furniture. Boy has this place changed.
Now the store carries everything you might need to decorate your home from furniture to lighting to decorator items like sculptures and pictures.
This store is three stories of demonstration rooms all gorgeously decorated. It looks like Restoration Hardware has changed their business focus and is now into some serious decorating.
The third floor of this store offered lots of garden and patio furniture as well as a great view. Tomorrow I'll show the views from up there.
I liked the circle shaped light fountain and the cage light.
ReplyDeleteI do remember exactly the same thing as you for the store at the >Baltimore one, we bought a couple of things from them for our home at the time; everything was of quality and I used to miss the store. Nice views inside this one.
ReplyDeleteI'll bet you that there isn't anything in that place I could afford. It would be fun to look around, though. We have a similar place, but not nearly as grand, but perhaps as expensive, although we did buy some new faucets there.
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't look like any hardware store that I have been in. Very posh!
ReplyDeleteA beautiful place to shop!
ReplyDeleteIt looks quite upscale.
ReplyDeleteWow, this is quite grand! I remember Restoration Hardware as being a bit like Pottery Barn, only more focused on hardware and less on dishes. Still lots of housewares, furnishings, retro games and stuff like that.
ReplyDeleteI haven't been in one in years! They sure have changed.
ReplyDeleteThis must have been quite a visual experience.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great store. There is a similar one here by Vaxhaul, it not only sells restoration bits and pieces but also a fews antiques and has a cafe in it.
ReplyDeleteIt is a biggie!
