More Mountainside Homes
On the same day I made my way up the mountain to see the Lykes house that I featured yesterday, I saw a few other homes that attracted my attention. The one above seems to have sort a mimicked the FLW style in a more modern way. I do love that huge cactus growing out from the lower balcony.
This home sits right below the Lykes house and also has some pretty spectacular views over the city. It also has a fabulous patio that would be perfect for parties.
This home was also below the Lykes house and on the other side of the road. It is built on several layers that tend to follow the hillside downward. It is a huge home that looks more like a resort than a house.
That first one reminds me of an old World War Two searchlight post you would see along the coast in the UK
ReplyDeleteThese are so unusual and adapted to the landscape so well. The last one is huge!
ReplyDeleteI definitely prefer the first house. Terrific view is right!
ReplyDeleteThere are some very unique homes up there on the side of the mountain.
ReplyDeleteThe architectural styles really do suit the area well.
ReplyDeleteThese are grand homes, Sharon, and they have such beautiful views !
ReplyDeleteWow! Guess those don't come cheap!
ReplyDeleteThese homes take my breath away! They are unique but beautiful, each in its own way. And as you say, those views would be to die for! But the price? Probably only for the one percenters. :(
ReplyDeleteThese places are huge, Sharon! Very impressive.
ReplyDeleteAs the old saying goes, houses God would build if he only had the money!
ReplyDeleteYou have to wonder if those rounded patios and projections would have been built had the Lykes house not been nearby. It seems likely to have inspired all of these houses one way or another.
ReplyDeleteIt is great so see buildings which match the surrounding area so well. Should be standard in the world I think.
