These two buildings couldn't be more different. On the left is the Orpheum Theatre which opened it's doors in 1929. On the right is the huge AT&T/Century Link facility with the tall microwave towers on top. The two buildings sit across the street from each other in downtown Phoenix.
The Grid rental bikes blend right in with that Century Link logo!
My how tastes change! You captured the contrast so well!
ReplyDeleteGreat capture. I'd forgotten that AT&T was now connected with Century Link. I long for the days of Southwestern Bell and real phones in houses. :)
ReplyDeleteI love these contrasts, two different worlds in one picture...
ReplyDeleteI prefer the 1920s building. But I guess they both have their appeal!
ReplyDeleteThat is a big contrast! I love the old Orpheum building. The one on the right...not so much.
ReplyDeleteQuite a radical contrast. I prefer the Orpheum!
ReplyDeleteThe Orpheum building is so lovely, Sharon!
ReplyDeleteGreat photographs, Sharon.
ReplyDeleteIt seems that just about everything in our lives offer some petty amazing contrasts, esp architecture. I appreciate both buildings for different reasons.
