Fall Colors in the Winter
I was running some errands on Friday when I passed this yard with all the trees turning a golden color so I knew I needed to turn around and get a photo. The trees turn colors much later here in the desert southwest so at a time when most of you are looking at bare trees, we are just starting to see some gorgeous color.
Yesterday I took the road through the Biltmore Estates to get home and I had to do a quick U-turn to go back and get some photos of these beauties that are turning a brilliant red. They were all clustered together in a little median strip in the center of the road.
I don't get to see too many that turn this color here in the desert so I had to stop and walk around under their crimson branches.
I took this shot facing east so you could see the stormy looking skies we've been experiencing the past few days. It's been quite a change from the sunshine we had earlier this week.
I have a new post on Sharon's Sojourns today. A glimpse of fall colors on the other side of the country is on hand.
A lovely little spot for photography. The colors of the tree leaves are marvelous.

Thats awesome! SO the leaveless season is short over there? I´m curious about when they appear again...
ReplyDeleteYour "seasons" are much like ours, although we did some of these colors earlier in the fall. It's exciting to see all that splendor in Phoenix. Stay safe from the storms!
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful. I noticed today that we still have a few yellow leaves hanging on for dear life!
ReplyDeleteThey're very pretty. Here the leaves are all down, aside from the odd tree which for some reason or another seems to hold onto their dead leaves until spring.
ReplyDeleteBless you for taking the time.
ReplyDeleteSo tidy!
ReplyDeleteHow lucky to still be having so much wonderful colour Sharon, looks incredible when these trees are planted in avenue formation.. one is fab but three or four or more are spectacular.
ReplyDeleteYou might get them in a different way, but those are fine colors.
ReplyDeleteFall colors are wonderful, regardless of what time of year they appear!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous colours!
