The Phoenix
Here is another depiction of the Phoenix Bird. This on is the mosaic style sign on the side of an apartment building that goes by the name "The Phoenix".
I've been away for awhile and a trying to play catch=up; this phoenix is very appealing to me, perhaps because of the fact that it is a tile/mosaic figure.
That is where my first apartment was, then I had to move for work and moved back because I missed this place. Great mid-century style apartments. If I moved back I would probably go back here.
Interesting. I don't remember seeing it before but in view of Randy's comment above I take it it's been around for a while since it's been a number of years since he lived in Phoenix, I believe.
And I guess the Phoenix name pops up everywhere.
ReplyDeleteInteresting! Is it a new building? It seems kind of mid-century, from the artwork, but I'm just guessing.
ReplyDeleteIt looks very elegant!

ReplyDeleteNow that is different! I like it.
ReplyDeleteHe's everywhere. He's everywhere in your city. And with good reason.
ReplyDeleteThat's a pretty poor representation of the Phoenix. (In my humble opinion.)
ReplyDeleteThat one has an attitude! I like it a lot!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful series even if the design of the bird is a little bit "streched" in this picture."
ReplyDeleteAnother super find! Do you have any idea of the number of interpretations of the Phoenix you've found Sharon, be fun to know.
