The East Evergreen Historic Neighborhood was another area that was new to me. I don't believe I had ever driven on the one street that comprises this historic district. The home above has a very business-like appearance. I didn't see any sign that it was anything other than a home but, I could also see this one doubling has an office.
This one has a wonderful brick wall around the yard that gives it a very unique and almost mid-western look. I could see a house like this in my old home town in Illinois.
I had to include this shot of a house at the very end of the historically designated street. I have a suspicion that the neighbors aren't the least bit happy with the fellow who lives here.
The Encanto Manor neighborhood was right across the street from where I used to live. I've driven through this area many times and admired the 1950's and 1960's style homes here.
They all seem to have beautifully maintained yards and attractive facades.
I like the way the neatly trimmed hedges on this one lead the way to the front door.

ReplyDeleteFourth and last are my picks Sharon, oh la! I can see why some might not be happy about the 'eclectic' garden :)
ReplyDeleteA good collection of different styles, Sharon. The first one is too symmetrical for me with lines that are too severe. The ramblers are appealing and the cluttered yard makes me laugh but I bet the neighbors are not amused.
ReplyDeleteSome gorgeous homes, here! I especially like the first two. I'd forgotten how nice some areas are in Phoenix. But, yeah, I'd guess that messy yard is not well-received by anyone living in the area. Would make it hard to sell any home close by.
ReplyDeleteI've always liked those 50s style bungalows, Sharon! Actually all these homes except the one eclectic one are quite nice. It's fun to explore a new area.
ReplyDeleteThat spammer hit my blog this morning again.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a pleasant area... and I can see the neighbours probably wouldn't be happy with one resident.
Another fine collection of properties, I can see why the neighbours may not be too enamored with #3 though!
ReplyDeleteRemember that old teaching game, which one doesn't match? We could play that one here. Wonderful, fun shots!
ReplyDeleteOh lol, what a collection of curiosities!!!
ReplyDeleteThe door is so welcoming and the houses are all rather nice!
You do get around town. Have loved seeing all the different ways people live near you.
ReplyDeleteThey all look so nice, well except the one with all the interesting looking stuff in the yard. There always seems to be that one house in the neighborhood that makes you wonder!
ReplyDeleteThere is a lot of variety on this one street. I do like neighborhoods where there is some consistency, such as consistent size and height, but tasteful variety in architectural style. This street looks like a successful one.
ReplyDeleteYou remind me of the many Sunday afternoon our family used to jump into the car and drive around looking at the beautiful homes in Pasadena, CA. Wonderful!
