While I was cruising around some of the historic neighborhoods over the weekend, I came across these two rather shaggy looking palm trees. They both appear to be very large but, they could use a good tree trimming.
As a bonus, I'm throwing in this shot of another house I saw in the Brentwood neighborhood. It's unusual to see a mural painted on the side of house but here is one. It makes me wonder if it's a caricature of of the owner.
I love the way the tree 'cascades' down... funny painting too!
ReplyDeleteThe portrait is a little shaggy, too. I wonder how difficult it is to trim those palms. Must be a bit scratchy.
ReplyDeleteThey look like they could be quite old Sharon, the portrait mural made me smile :)
ReplyDeleteThe head of an Indian chief came in mind watching those palms...
ReplyDeleteand I hope the owner of the house doesn't look as his mural :)
Paint, please.
ReplyDeleteLove the mural! They must not have a Homeowners Association! :)
ReplyDeleteI think the tree needs a haircut! The mural looks like a viking with multiple horns. ;)
ReplyDeleteThat will be a chore to trim that palm. It's a dangerous job in the best of circumstances. I wonder if the neighbors appreciate the art work.
ReplyDeleteThat mught be the owner's caricature :) not a bad idea eh? :)
ReplyDeleteThe palm is lovely, although untrimmed, it does give a view.
I wouldn't want to go up in those palm trees. They are so thick as to be almost impenetrable. A few unfortunate tree trimmers have actually been killed by some of these trees and they are known to be havens for hornets and other deadly insects. I think the drawing on the little bungalow is a hoot but only a passing pleasure. Those who have to look at it every day probably hate it!
ReplyDeleteA viking must live there! I don't see many palm trees but those 2 need a haircut!
ReplyDeleteWe certainly don't see palm trees here!
ReplyDeleteThat's funny and the palm tree is huge though!
ReplyDeleteI had exactly the same thought. If I were the owner and looked like that I wouldn't seek publicity.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't want to trim that tree. Scorpions breed in them. Maybe the guy who's caricature is painted would handle that job.
ReplyDeleteThe "portrait" on the house is pretty funny, but I don't want one on my house.
