I posted a photo of this Phoenix Bird once before but it was 5 years ago. Where does the time go!
This one is located in the Garfield Historic district. I think it was put there to highlight the resurgence of that neighborhood.
The artist for this one is Joe A. Tyler and it was created with funds from the City of Phoenix Streets Percent for the Arts project.
Wonderful!

ReplyDeleteNice art work. I like the wing spread.
ReplyDeleteTime does fly when you're having fun Sharon :) This phoenix is pretty special rising from the flames..
ReplyDeleteYou are showing some mighty fine photos of Phoenixes.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure it IS quite symbolic.
ReplyDeleteI love this one and remember seeing it. It's beautiful. Unfortunately, as I recall, the Garfield district did not enjoy a great resurgence!
ReplyDeleteThis one stands out beautifully!
ReplyDeleteI like this one! Even a little better than that more "modern" one you showed a few weeks back.
ReplyDeleteA striking sculpture!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. I know there are lots of Garfields but I can't help seeing the cat Garfield rising in my mind... :-)
ReplyDeleteIt's a nice one and the "Garfield Rising" title is fitting.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fine structure indeed.
ReplyDeleteA phoenix in Phoenix, and it is a really fine one!

ReplyDeleteThe shadow is a little bit spooky! :-)
