I've posted photos of this rock formation on Camelback Mountain before but this time I caught this view between two tall palm trees. The formation is called "The Praying Monk" for obvious reasons. It does look like a monk kneeling in prayer. I was riding around in the neighborhood just west of the mountain when I spotted this view between the two trees.
I can see some other face like formations, just below the Monk to the right... can you see them too?!
ReplyDeleteThe trees make a nice frame! That looks like an expensive area.
ReplyDeleteHope he praying for me. I need all the points I can get.
ReplyDeleteInteresting sight.
ReplyDeleteIt took me a while to find the monk! He is on a rather steep incline...
ReplyDeleteI didn't get it at first, but it is really amazing!
ReplyDeleteIt certainly does look like that. Nicely framed!
ReplyDeleteI know the Monk well. I once hiked part of the way up to him but it was late in the day so I didn't go on.
ReplyDeleteIt certainly dwarfs that house. Great shot!
ReplyDeleteThat's a nice view of it!
ReplyDeleteI often don't get rock formations that are named, but in this case, I do see the monk.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shot.
ReplyDeleteAmazing the things Nature can sculpt!
ReplyDeleteSince I am unfamiliar with your area, I had to really check out your photo to find the monk. Eureka! I did it and it really does look like a praying figure.
ReplyDeleteI thought of you today; I was at Mayo Clinic and just happened to look "up" in one of the very long and wide corridors in a sub floor in the building I was in. Wow! The entire length of the ceiling was filled with Chihuly's glass work. I was impressed that aesthetics is important as well as medical concerns. I definitely endorse Mayo!
Beautiful !
