Big Lens
When I went to the garden last Sunday morning, I wasn't the only one there taking pictures. This guy had some serious equipment set up and was working away on some subject. I was never quite sure where he was pointing that giant lens.
There are so many comments that are going through my head but none that seem appropriate for this venue. I just wonder how many people that see him have 'lens envy'.
OMG. I don't know Nikon lenses since I belong to the other party but I can't imagine why you would need a lens that big for an object 3 or 4 feet away. How could it focus?
Whoa! Bob Crowe said what was in my mind. I was thinking, "It is not the camera, it is the photographer." And, Catalyst said the other thing that I was thinking, since I learned today that Hall of Fame pitcher Randy Johnson now spends most of his time doing photography. Have you ever seen him out and about in Phoenix. He would be hard to miss, something like 6'10" with long hair and grizzled.
Looks like he may be zooming in on Australia ;-)
ReplyDeleteHa ha, good one, Down Under it is.
ReplyDeleteI wonder?! You could always ask, but then you run the risk of getting a photography lecture. I've found that to be the case, anyway. :)
ReplyDeleteRemember: size doesn't ALWAYS matter. In EVERYTHING.
ReplyDeleteWow! I wonderf if his pics were any good?! ;-))

ReplyDeleteHe takes it very seriously!
ReplyDeleteMaybe you'll run across photographer Randy Johnson one of these days.

ReplyDeleteSerious is right and I think Bob's comment is practical. I wonder what a lens like that is able to do?
ReplyDeleteCan you imagine the photos.
ReplyDeleteProbably a teeny, tiny bug!
ReplyDeleteOh... my... goodness... I'd like to try that just once!

ReplyDeleteHe probably has to keep an insurance policy on it!

ReplyDeleteHe seems very serious and focused.
