The Nash was opened in 2012 by Louis Nash and the Allstars featuring Wynton Marsalis. Its mission is to provide unique educational programs to students and musicians while providing a venue for jazz performances and informal jam sessions. The center is named for Louis Nash an acclaimed drummer who was born and raised in Phoenix.
I haven't attended a performance here yet. I need to check it out one of these days.
It does look quite inspiring!
ReplyDeleteTHat bright color is certain to attract many people to the building.
ReplyDeleteIt's certainly colourful!
ReplyDeleteWith that stark pink or violet color it is easy to recognize.
ReplyDeleteHere in P-town, we have The Nosh, a restaurant.
ReplyDeleteIt's an interesting building and interesting colors. My first thought was it was a strip club of some kind. Don't ask why. :)
ReplyDeleteI can imagine those informal jam sessions would be great fun.
LOL @ Fotososopher's comment! The building has a cool design.
ReplyDeleteIt does look like pretty big and attractive.
ReplyDeleteAre the pink buildings also part of the Nash? They certainly stand out.
ReplyDeleteHi Sharon! Re your comment on Ocala: Yes, definitely financial. We've had several courses bought up by one guy but he refused to put any money into them and ran them into the ground. A couple have been redeemed and fixed and are doing well. But a golf course is a huge expense and some of these people are only interested in getting what they can and then getting out.
ReplyDeleteOooh yes, that sounds very cool!
ReplyDeleteA jazz club would be a welcome place as far as I'm concerned to frequent!

ReplyDeleteI thought it was something that Steve Nash opened when he played there! ;-))
ReplyDeleteI like the color. Makes the place stand out.
ReplyDeleteI remember when that was an art gallery/design center.
ReplyDeleteI like the clean lines of the building and am impressed that it promotes jazz!
ReplyDeleteThis is probably a terrific venue for jazz lovers, but regrettably, I am not in that category.
