I was downtown yesterday and was surprised to see this Christmas tree and the ice skating rink still up in the middle of Central Ave.
An hour later when I walked by, they were taking it down. There will be a lot of downtown workers who will be so glad to have Central Avenue open again.
I'm surprised that the local business association would want it to be up this far into January.
ReplyDeleteWhat about the rink? Gone too?
ReplyDeleteThe decorating and un-decorating keeps the city workers very busy.
ReplyDeleteIn my childhood home, January 6 signaled the end of the Christmas holiday so this group is a bit late!
ReplyDeleteIt is such a beautiful Christmas tree.
ReplyDeleteSame here as Kate: January 6th is the signal to put everything away.
Beautiful trees. Can't imagine a rink in the middle of Central Avenue! Yikes. We had one here also...but it was on a parking lot.
ReplyDeleteI don't like seeing Christmas stuff in January so I'm with the workers!
ReplyDeleteMy neighbours still had their Christmas tree up and lit last evening!
ReplyDeleteSome people would have their Christmas decorations up year round. SWMBO takes ours down on New Year's Day.
ReplyDeleteWe've still got nutcrackers decorating a street up here.
ReplyDeleteReminds me of the one in Denver.
ReplyDeleteYup. Time to go.
ReplyDeleteFarewell Christmas!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Christmas tree !
ReplyDeleteDefinitely time to get back to business and the new year Sharon.
ReplyDeleteNo, the rink is up until February 1. So still causing traffic problems and it's a pain leaving work.
