There were some expert pumpkin carvers on hand at the Pumpkin Festival but, I didn't see any really scary ones this year. There was one with Mickey Mouse but it was sitting behind the others so I couldn't get a shot of it.
They did do one with the Desert Botanical Garden trade mark on it. I'm guessing that one stayed on site after the festival was over.
Very impressive carvings, Halloween works of art in fact!
ReplyDeleteI still have to crave our pumpkin. I wish I had half the skills of these artist.
ReplyDeleteThose are very intricate carvings.

These cutters do some good work.
ReplyDeleteArtists at work. I couldn't do it but I'll bet it's easier than chainsaw sculpture or carving! Our grandkids love to carve pumpkins. I wished they loved school just as much! :)
ReplyDeleteNot your ordinary looking carvings! These are works of art!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work! I couldn't do that fine carving myself.
ReplyDeleteI'm always impressed by the skill of these carvers!
ReplyDeleteI find it hard to cut pumpkins to cook them so always wonder how they do it! They are really cool!
ReplyDeleteI don't think I have ever seen pumpkins carved like that before. They are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteGreat work. Mine would never look that good.
ReplyDeleteThese are pretty neat! I've become lazy and used markers instead of carving the last couple of years.
ReplyDeleteUnusual works of Art!
ReplyDeleteNo pumpkin carving contests here that I know of ; seems like the Farmers Mkt would be a perfect place for it. I think I'll suggest that for next year. Yesterday our local market gave away candy to costumed kiddies and I forgot about it! Darn! The children with parents in tow are fun to watch!!
ReplyDeleteImpressive carvings, works of Art !
ReplyDeleteImpressive work!
ReplyDeleteVery well carved pumpkins, though I am partial to old-fashioned jack-o-lanterns. Naples is so hoity toity that few pumpkins are available in the stores and hardly any carved ones are seen -- at least in the places I go.
ReplyDeleteI've seen lots of fruits beautifully carved in South East Asia, but I don't remember seeing pumpkins ever.
