I'm continuing my posts about the Lego Exhibit at the Heard Museum. This wonderful coyote was created by Steven and Wyatt Yazzie.
He's a very willy character, don't you think?
Another impressive creation was this Native American blanket make of Lego tiles.
The blanket that was used as the model was also there for comparison.
Pretty clever work, I'd say.
I know a young man who would have loved to see them. He had me trying to make a dinosaur out of Lego only last week. It's either a very poor attempt or a new species of dinosaur as yet unknown to science!
ReplyDeleteVery clever, indeed. That coyote really does look like a coyote and the other designs really do look like the old computer games!
ReplyDeleteWow, these are fantastic. It's the first time I see Native Lego. Yazzie is a Native name, right?
ReplyDeleteThis makes me want to go out and buy some to play with myself!
ReplyDeleteThey are fantastic. Now all that lego coyote needs is a phone, because rather than chasing a lego road runner, he should just order out for pizza.
ReplyDeleteThese fit the theme of the Heard Museum.
ReplyDeleteThe coyote's tail makes him very endearing.
ReplyDeleteHee... I thought that was Angry Birds! :)
ReplyDeleteThese people are so talented, Sharon! And so patient.
ReplyDeleteLego of me!
ReplyDeleteLove the blanket.
ReplyDeleteLOL -- is that an "Angry Birds" Native American blanket?! I love the things that inspire people to create art. :)
ReplyDeleteI have been seeing LEGOs in many adult artistic uses in the past several years. It could be that artists have discovered them, but I suspect that LEGO is subsidizing this as a way of broadening their appeal.
ReplyDeleteBrilliant, this and last post Sharon, never ceases to amaze me what can be created using these wonderful little blocks.. but first time I've seen anything like the blanket.
ReplyDeleteI love Lego (have some building sets even today...) :)
ReplyDeleteThese are great!
