I went to dinner with Julie's (Scottsdale Daily Photo) mother Glenda on Wednesday night and we dined at a restaurant that I featured a year ago (you can see it here). The place is called Distrito and it's the restaurant owned by Iron Chef Jose Garces. I noticed this wall of Day of the Dead skulls just as you enter the restaurant. They were paint different colors and all mounted to a wall with warm glowing lights.
The restaurant is located inside the Saguaro Hotel in Scottsdale and as I was leaving I snapped one more shot of this great cluster of light fixtures that grace the hotel lobby.
I can think of no greater testimony to how great a friend you are other than to note that Julie's mother is trusting you to care for her beloved dog for the weekend.
ReplyDeleteAnd when Glenda talked to you at dinner about what I am sure were excruciatingly detailed instructions about every aspect of the dog's daily life and eating, sleeping, walking, playing, and every other bodily function, I wonder if you were tempted to borrow the tee shirt from the guy in Jack's photo posted today.
Brilliant atmospheric lighting in both shots Sharon, Dave's comment above made me smile :)
ReplyDeleteThis entry display of skulls was quite impressive and you got a great angle on them. Dave, Dave, Dave what can I say, except you also love Stella and are happy she will be well taken care of!
ReplyDeleteNice looking decor!
ReplyDeleteDave's comment made me laugh. I can relate because I have never allowed anyone to take care of our dog in the four years we've had him. He kind of rules our lives.
Love those light fixtures, Sharon! You have a doggie guest - great fun!
ReplyDeleteI like the lights a lot, but I can't get it through my skull why people make a fetish of the dead! :)
ReplyDeleteAll very atmospheric!
ReplyDeleteLove those spherical lights. Interesting how those skulls always pop up!
ReplyDeleteThose light fixtures are very pleasing to the eye!
ReplyDeleteThe white light globes are what attract me, more than the skulls.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed the by-play between Dave and Glenda and am honored that my tee shirt today played a little role in it.
Fun decor.
ReplyDeleteLove the comments.
ReplyDeleteFor the wall, I am not sure I would like to eat in front of it...
Very cool place and love your photos
