BUILD!
I made a visit to the Heard Museum on Sunday to see an exhibit that has been popular this summer. It is called Build and it's all about Lego construction. The exhibit included a lot of interactive activities designed for the young and the young at heart. But, there was a lot there for adults to enjoy too! Over the next few days, I'll show you some of the things I saw there.
These extra large blocks were in the hands of two young boys when I arrived and they had built a large fort around themselves. After viewing some of the other exhibits, I walked back to see how the fort was coming along and all that was left was this pile of bricks. The boys must have decided it was just as much fun to take it down as it was to put it up. Hmmmm....maybe it was even more fun.
I like the interactive part for the kids. A few years back there was a 3-story Lego build at the Mall of America in Minneapolis. Very impressive!
ReplyDeleteI'm still finding pieces of these in the strangest places in this house... and it's been 20 years! Ha! They were great fun. And J's day played too.
ReplyDeleteI think I'm going to like this series! That sign is great - so colorful!
ReplyDeleteI don't quite get the connection between Legos and the Native American cultures featured at the Heard. Maybe they could build some pueblos out of Legos.
ReplyDeleteSounds like fun and those blocks make for colorful pictures!
ReplyDeleteGosh that takes me back Sharon, both my kids loved Lego.. looking forward to seeing what caught your attention.
ReplyDeleteI loved playing around with that stuff as a kid!
ReplyDeleteThat must be a popular display for all ages.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, I know a few people who would go berserk there!!!
ReplyDeleteKids have so much patience we try too hard to keep records of what we are trying to build...:-)
ReplyDeleteLooks like a fun exhibit.
ReplyDeleteMy granddaughter would love it there.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun, creative exhibit.
