Southwestern Gate


I've shown pictures from the Hermosa Inn before but, now that so many things are blooming, I thought it would be nice to show another view from this gorgeous resort.  These are the gates you enter from the parking area when you are going to indulge in lunch or dinner at the resort.  The entrance really enhances the spirit of the southwest and those blooming palo verde trees in the background have put on their finest for this shot.

I can't leave the resort without showing one more of the many Allan Houser sculptures that have found a home on the resort's grounds.  This one is called The Corngrinder.

    Beautiful symmetry and composition in this image Sharon, wonderful backdrop, as you say so Arizona.. Really like the corn grinder's smooth lines.

    The gate is wonderful! Simple but at the same time special. The little lamps on each side, are lovely as well.

    I love sitting on the patio enjoying their wonderful food and drinks. It has a very peaceful secluded atmosphere. Great photo of the front gate with the trees over the top!

    'Tis a gorgeous gate, open or closed. The Hermosa Inn must be an elegant, upscale place. Maybe they'd let me visit if I asked nicely?

    This is absolutely gorgeous, the gate the adobe, the planters and the Houser sculpture is a gem. But then he is a great artist in my opinion.

    Returning thanks to the earth. It;s beautiful. This sculpture was at the DBG during Las Luminarias one year. It looks like the perfect place for it.

    Houser definitely was a remarkable artist. One reason I love Santa Fe and its art is because of his pieces scattered all over the place.
