I got a little preview of the Chihuly exhibit at the Desert Botanical Garden. Most of the sculptures are up and ready to go with just a few left to be done. The show officially opens on November 10th. I was lucky to get a sneak preview.
How cool! I saw a Chihuly show years ago at the New York Botanical Garden. It's amazing how well his glass pieces go with plants. And it looks like he's designed some specifically for Arizona!

Amazing, it's a real explosion of colour!
ReplyDeleteIf I squint my eyes it ALMOST looks like an Aussie wildflower called 'Blue Pincushion'!!!
ReplyDeleteYou not only have this lovely garden to visit and photograph but now Chihuly, too? Jealous, jealous, jealous!!
ReplyDeleteThis one is spectacular! It reminds me of some kind of giant blue flower.
ReplyDeleteI really like this one! What a cool shot.
ReplyDeleteGosh that's fabulous Sharon.. is it an annual event, I seem to remember you showing some beautiful Chihuly creations last year?
ReplyDeleteI have it on my calendar. We love Chihuly's work.
ReplyDeleteI wish I had been with you! This piece looks spectacular, Sharon.
ReplyDeleteOh so beautiful, can't wait to see it all.
ReplyDeleteAren't you sneaky, Sharon.
ReplyDeleteThe Franklin Park Conservatory in Columbus had a couple of Chihuly exhibitions among the plants while I was there.
Fabulous!
ReplyDeleteSuper art. Perfect blue.
