I went out again last night looking for clouds that might form a sunset but I got stopped by the moon hanging over one of the mid-town high-rises. I walked a little further to see if I could catch the moon between two buildings but, by that time the moon was too high to make the "in-between" shot.
Dinosaurs are the subject on Sharon's Sojourns today!
The moon does what the moon wants.
ReplyDeleteThe timing of the moon rise is less known for planning photos.
ReplyDeletePerfection, Sharon! Did you use a tripod?
ReplyDeleteI saw it hanging in the sky last night and thought it was beautiful. So is your pic!
ReplyDeleteOh, good one! I looked at the moon last night but it was covered by clouds. We had another nice rain yesterday.
ReplyDeletesnap today.
ReplyDeleteBe lovely to meet you when in London.
Great photo, Sharon! What's interesting is that the lit portion of the moon in your photo is the same as in mine -- same features, craters, etc. I clearly don't know enough about astronomy. Why is what you see in Arizona the same as what I see in London? Does the moon rotate, or is the same portion always visible to Earth? (I know there's a "Dark Side of the Moon," but is it constant?) Anyway, I'll have to read up on that. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat shot!
ReplyDeleteGood shot. I, too, walked outside last night and was surprised by the moon. But my camera doesn't zoom well enough to bother with a photo.
ReplyDeleteLooks so close.
ReplyDeleteSuperb!
ReplyDeleteFull moon on Monday.
What a great moon!
ReplyDeleteI like this composition very Sharon, and not a cloud in sight oui:)
ReplyDeleteNature doesn't wait for photographers!
ReplyDeleteWe have that same moon - what a concept! In the early morning hours, i.e., 3 a.m. or so, it shines a bright orange light in my window.
