I took these photos on the first of June when I went to the botanical garden very early that morning. I got there in the midst of watering on the Desert Wildflower loop. That's how I happened to see the reflection of one of the Papago Buttes in the puddle of water on the path.
All that water drew the attention of a lot of bees at a spot where there is a water feature.
Papago Buttes looks great reflecting in all of that bright sunshine. I have never seen so many bees in one spot gather water. When I see them it's usually just one at a time.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful colours, hope you didn't get too close to the bees though?!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous first image Sharon..seeing the bees attracted to the water reminded me of when our neighbours kept beehives (not allowed in suburbia) in summer they would come seeking water in our pool, got a bit scary we had to get them to move the hives.
ReplyDeletevery nice!
ReplyDeleteGood to see so many healthy-lokking bees since they seem to be declining in numbers.
ReplyDeleteGood catch and you were in the right place at the right time. Just don't upset the bees.
ReplyDeleteThat's beautiful. I remember the butte slightly. The reflection you captured is delightful. And the bees...gives new meaning to the phrase, "busy as a bee"!
ReplyDeleteIt is rare to see a reflection shot of Papago Buttes.
ReplyDeleteReports of people being badly stung by killer bees makes me reluctant to come near them.
ReplyDeleteThe buttes is stunning...I still feel sad about missing my visit in June. Peace, Mary Helen Fernandez Stewart
ReplyDeleteIt's really a beautiful park.
ReplyDeleteWhat a setting!
ReplyDeleteWe definitely need more bees!
