Even though they are quite beautiful, it seems a terrible shame to let a delicious artichoke bloom. Once it blooms, it is no longer edible.
The artichokes in this garden have all gone to flower so there won't be any grilled artichokes on the menu here. Now that I have my taste buds craving one, I think I'll see if I can find one to grill. A little, butter, a little lemon.....yum!
Delicious!
ReplyDeleteSomething new to try...these are simply beautiful and I know how delicious they can be. I never have had a grilled one though. Peace, Mary Helen Fernandez Stewart
ReplyDeleteIt looks a bit like a thistle Sharon..gosh I really do learn something new everyday blogging, I had no idea that artichokes flowered like this, fabulous!
ReplyDeleteI didn't know a bloomin' thing about artichokes, so once again I've learned something new on your blog.
ReplyDeleteGot to say you and your new camera are setting the pace. What superb photos!
Yum, yes, but what a shame to miss this pretty bloom. I don't think I have ever seen one bloom.
ReplyDeleteToday I learned something new, beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI haven't eaten artichokes very often and never grilled.
ReplyDeleteThat certainly is a beautiful flower they have.
Gotta watch out for the choke, though. Beautiful photos, Sharon.
ReplyDeleteMy college roommate did not come from a family with adventurous dining habits. He visited a wealthy friend's family in Manhattan and was served an artichoke. Having no idea what to do, he ate the choke and thought he was going to die!
ReplyDeleteThese are amazing.
ReplyDeleteYum indeed! Awesome shots, Sharon.
