A Teaching Moment

Momma is teaching the young ones how to forage!

The Gambel's Quail at the botanical garden have been very busy.  The last time I was there, I saw babies everywhere all being watched over by their dutiful parents.

  8. They look so young! Just out of the nest! But mother quail has learned an important lesson - get the kids equipped to go out on their own and thereby gain your own freedom! :)
