Things you can buy
On the trade show side of the Barrett-Jackson Auction there was mind boggling array of things you could buy. Here we have a selection of classic gas pumps.
Or, how about this brand new 2013 Corvette built in the old classic Corvette style. I might be tempted by this one. When I was about 17 years old I really wanted this car in this exact color! But, alas it was not in the cards. Just so you don't feel sorry for me, I did get a 1964 Pontiac Tempest convertible. That wasn't too shabby.
If you are restoring an old car and into lots of bling, you could get this rhinestone covered engine to jazz things up!
Obviously, practicality is not an issue with any of these items.
One of the gas pump would be probably more in my price range! Oh I just realized they were real gas pump then maybe not for me :-) I thought for a short while they were miniature ones...
ReplyDeleteThere really are some fantastic things on display, and you have done a great job catching them all at their gleaming best!
ReplyDeleteAs much as I like vintage items and objects of the past like those old gas pumps, I prefer the Corvette! I learned to drive on a Corvette just like this only it was black and white. The Corvette, unfortunately, is long gone and part of the past. Must be worth a fortune now, tho.
ReplyDeleteIt would be nice for technology to evolve to the point that all gas pumps become antiques.
ReplyDeleteA real sized petrol pump as a garden ornament would be a little unique!!
ReplyDeleteI like that new Corvette...a lot. That is the best looking one they have made in many years.
ReplyDeleteReally enjoying your photos of the car show. The gas pumps are pretty amazing.
ReplyDeleteI love the gasoline pumps...a friend of mine has a collection of Texaco history ...from his father's gas station when he was a little boy in IL. Peace, Mary Helen Fernandez Stewart
ReplyDeleteI love the old gas pumps! I always wanted a little red MG but alas ......
ReplyDeleteThe Corvette is surely to expensive for me, but so a classic gas pump would be nice...
ReplyDeleteLove the old pumps.
ReplyDeleteA car with 2013 engineering and technology and old-time looks? NOW you have my interest . . .
ReplyDeleteIt's been a long time since I've seen gas pumps like these.
ReplyDeleteI'm in awe at the gas pumps. What a fabulous collection!
