When I drive on Indian School Road I pass this sculpture that sits on the top of a business. I finally stopped to take a photo.
It sits atop the One World Mexican Tile establishment but, I'm not sure why. I checked their web site to see if there was a explanation but, none was there. What I did learn is that this business has a huge selection of some really beautiful tile. So if you are in market for some new tile, this might be the place to go.
At least she has spot lights at her feet so she doesn't have to stand there in the dark.
ReplyDeleteLove the tile panel!
ReplyDeleteThat sculpture is so typically Méxican, isn't it yet so unusual to be mounted on a tile store?!
ReplyDeleteI have never noticed this place, and I just drove on Indian School past this location as recently as yesterday, if the address is on East Indian School rather than West Indian School.
ReplyDeleteIt draws the attention and way up there it wont be easy to mess with if someone was so inclined.
ReplyDeleteOle! Definitely a Spanish 'Day of the Dead' feel to it Sharon, only not as colourful ..
ReplyDeleteThat is quite a sculpture, I'll look for it the next time I pass by.
ReplyDeleteIt has a Mexican flavour to me and probably attracts attention to the place.
ReplyDeleteI agree, it does look Mexican though I can't remember ever seeing such a figure when I lived down there. And the sign for the store is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteYour not going to miss that place in a hurry. If that were located on a shop here it would become a garden ornament rather quickly
ReplyDeleteI've seen those here before. I would love to have one.
ReplyDeleteNow you are talking here.........I love this image. Peace, Mary helen Fernandez Stewart
ReplyDeleteOne of these days I need to google or wikipedia Day of the Dead. I'm an easterner and woefully uninformed about Mexican culture.
