Since I posted my Renaissance Man yesterday I thought I'd remind you of what the Renaissance Square Buildings look like. It's those two tall towers one of which has Ernst & Young on the top. They are joined by a skywalk that you can just barely see above the roof of that low tan building below. Renaissance Square was designed by the architecture firm Emery Roth & Sons, a firm who designed many iconic New York apartment buildings.
I have worked in each of the towers of the Renaissance Square Buildings in the past. One day I was in the office on a Saturday and they filmed part of a movie about skydiving, Terminal Velocity, with skydivers coming down between the two buildings.
ReplyDeleteI 'd like to see a few skywalks in London. Its always difficult dodging the traffic in the bussier parts of the city
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea a skywalk is, I know a lot of folk here that would enjoy that...I'm not one of them haha! Sounds like you had a brilliant weekend Sharon, enjoy your busy week, before you know it it'll be the weekend again.
ReplyDeleteAnd I see the Hotel San Carlos in the front too! I would like to take a stroll across that skywalk. I wonder if Dave had his camera when they were filming that movie.
ReplyDeleteCool shot & a nice reflection too!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful architecture and beautiful architecture photo, but I would not live permanently here...
ReplyDeleteI like all the glass catching the sunlight and the reflections. They serve as an interesting counterpoint to the older San Carlos Hotel!
ReplyDeleteThe San Carlos Hotel has been there as long as I can remember. I'd forgotton about it.
ReplyDeleteI love the colors in this shot.
ReplyDeleteI strongly dislike skywalks. When I got to Hartford in 1980, they had skywalks everywhere. All they do is streamline the process for people to get from parking garages to the office buildings without looking in the windows of the retail stores. All have now been removed, but it is too late. The retail environment in the downtown is irreparably gone.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful city view...thank you! Mary Helen Fernandez Stewart
ReplyDeleteNice modern architecture.
