Unexpected

I was just a few blocks from work last night when the skies opened up and it started to pour down rain. What an unexpected and welcome thunder storm!  I wish it had gone on for longer but, by the time I got home, it had stopped.  Rain showers in Arizona are very short lived.

  1. Rain in the desert is like candy at Christmas!

  2. The same showers hit Julie on her way home and pelted my office windows. One moment visibility was reduced to the point where I could barely see the ground from the 23rd floor, and 5 minutes later the sky was clear and the sun was shining again.

  5. So true! But we must live in just the right spot for this shower because we had rain for a hour or more. At the beginning it was a real down pour.

  6. Rain is almost always a welcome sight in Arizona...unless it rains too much and the washes flood and run amok. We get a lot of rain here but if we didn't, this part of Florida would look just like Arizona. :-)

  7. We got buckets of rain yesterday from the remnants of Hurricane Ivan!

  8. Courtesy of Luke Bryan:

    (Verse 1)
My daddy spent his life lookin' up at the sky
He'd cuss, kick the dust, sayin' son it's way too dry
It clouds up in the city, the weather man complains
But where I come from, rain is a good thing

    (Chorus)
Rain makes corn, corn makes whiskey
Whiskey makes my baby feel a little frisky
Back roads are boggin' up, my buddies pile up in my truck
We hunt our honeys down, we take 'em into town
Start washin' all our worries down the drain
    Rain is a good thing

    (Verse 2)
Ain't nothin' like a kiss out back in the barn
Wringin' out our soakin' clothes, ridin' out a thunderstorm
When tin roof gets to talkin'; that's the best love we made
Yea where I come from, rain is a good thing

    Repeat Chorus

    (Bridge)
Farmer Johnson does a little dance
Creeks on the rise, roll up your pants
    Country girls, they wanna cuddle
Kids out playin' in a big mud puddle

    Repeat Chorus

Rain is a good thing, rain is a good thing, rain is a good thing

  9. It made for a nice shot. I love the smells of the desert after a rain.

  10. I see what you mean about our shots, great minds hey Sharon! It's hard to beat the fresh smell of rain on hot roads when there hasn't been any for so long.
