Here are two more photos from The Arizona Inn in Tucson Arizona. As you can see, there is a very distinctive southwestern look the place.
The Inn was a very popular winter destination from the 1930's on. Many guests would spend the entire winter here staying warm when there was snow on the ground at home. In fact, to this day, the rooms have very large walk-in closets built to accommodate the large wardrobes of some it's famous guests.
Just how I imagined they would look
ReplyDeleteLooks like you picked the right time of day to do your shooting. Lovely light.
ReplyDeleteFancy! I love it! Is there where Joe Bonano stayed? And is there a roof terrace in that first shot? You don't have to answer my questions, I'm just curious.
ReplyDeleteLove those blue awnings.
ReplyDeleteEverything looks so cared for and well tended. I think I would definitely feel spoiled here.
ReplyDeleteI love that blue against the adobe colour. I could spend winter there quite nicely!
ReplyDeleteJulie and I Played table tennis at the ramada to the right of these flowers the last time we were there. We also played croquet(spelling?) until it got dark. Love visiting the Inn!
ReplyDeleteHow fabulous to 'winter' here Sharon..oh to be rich and famous!
ReplyDeleteThe landscaping, the architecture, the quiet places. The Arizona Inn seems perfectly designed. It is even more remarkable because it was designed and built at the very beginning of the Great Depression.
ReplyDeleteLove that balcony and the colours too.
