The glow of sunset

The glow of the evening sun was lighting up the Phoenix Financial Center building a few nights ago so I stopped to see if I could capture it.  This building is curved in a "C" shape so it's not always easy to capture especially from this side with the stripes created by those brassy beams.

I posted photos of this building way back in 2008.  You can see those photos here and here.

  3. The sun certainly gave the building a high gloss and shine. The curve shows up very well in your photo.

  4. Wonderful perspective to show the building.

  5. This is tricky because the side of the building that you photographed faces north, and it would not get the direct rays of the setting sun except for this time of year, when the sun sets north of due west.

  10. Yup, I lived about three blocks east of this building, which I always thought of as the IBM card building because of the windows on the other side.

  11. There is nothing like the sun low in the sky to make a picture pop. I like this one a lot. Great composition.

  15. Like Bruce, I'm of the genre that we called this one the IBM Card building. Great shot of the wonders that sunlight can perform!
