Long way from the beach
I spotted this little display in front of an antique store along 7th Avenue. The car, the board, and the bicycle would all fit in perfectly at Crystal Cove California.
I recognize the area from the Rainbow Rentals sign. I think Sweet Salvage is a new business since I left - almost two years ago now. Wow! My, how time flies - even when you're not having fun!
Cute. I have friends with a tandem bicycle. When they ride past and wave, it is easy to know who is waving despite the helmets and the bicycling gear. No one else has one.
Where we should be in Aug.

ReplyDeleteThat looks like fun! Lets get in and go!
ReplyDeleteCrystal Cove looks fab, this display made me think of that old tv show with Sally Field called Gidget for some reason!! Tandem bike riding is fun.
ReplyDeleteOh, my daughter would love to own that Volkswagon Beetle! It is definitely an eye-catching display here in Phoenix.
ReplyDeleteGidget would definitely go for that ride! Oh, Moondoggy. ;-)
ReplyDeleteSweet photo. I had a bug of that vintage. But I've never seen such a tandem bike...that's an oldie but goodie!
ReplyDeleteI can hear the Beach Boys now... love this shot!
ReplyDeleteMaybe they were looking for that ocean front property in Arizona that someone sold them.

ReplyDeleteGREAT find and picture, Sharon. Memories of the 50's.
ReplyDeleteI miss the vintage shops along 7th.
ReplyDeleteDriving the PCH with the beetle would easier than with the bike.
ReplyDeleteGecko is watching :-)
You probably wouldn't even notice this if it was here! :-)
ReplyDeleteFunny scene!
