Burano was a fishing village, and they told us that the fishermen would paint their houses with the same paint that they used for the hulls on their fishing boats.
It impressed me that the working class families of Burano lacked the money for the fancy architecture of the pallazzos of the main part of Venice, yet with a little paint they have made relatively simple architecture very appealing.
The reflected images are really super.
ReplyDeleteLove this, Sharon. Adore Venice of course and you show Burano so well in this photograph.
ReplyDeleteI have been to Siena, not to Venice.
ReplyDeleteThis is totally gorgeous, Sharon. Both versions. And you hve wonderful light (afternoon, I am guessig).

ReplyDeleteThis would be a plain building if not for the bright paint. The lighting was perfect for capturing the colors and reflection.
