Recycled Sign

Sometimes a business will use the same sign that was left on a building by the previous owner.  Anybody want to guess what this sign used to say?  The distinctive shape should be familiar to most Americans.

  1. I don't think I have ever tried an cheese steak.

As for the previous I will have to leave that to the locals.

  2. I also have never had a Philly cheese steak, and my office is just a few blocks from this sign.

  6. Good eye, Kate! They are two different places but, I agree, the Honey Bear BBQ is great!

  7. It's an old Taco Bell sign! I used to work across the street at the U-Haul building.

  8. The only thing that comes to mind is Taco Bell. I guess I haven't been paying attention to my surroundings.

  9. Randy wins! Yes, it is the old style Taco Bell sign. It probably fits well with the Philly steak place. They can say it's the Liberty Bell.

  11. We lived in the Philly area for several years in the 70s...that's where I learned to love Philly cheese steak sandwiches.

Re the sign, I dunno: "Bob's Big Boy"? Let's see, it has a bell: ah..."Ding-a-lings eat here"?

  15. Before I got to Randy's comment, I had decided it must be a Taco Bell sign. But it's not one I'm very familiar with. I love how they recycled it.

  16. I am sure relieved that Randy got Taco Bell before it was time for me to comment. I didn't have any idea. Guess I don't frequent TB very often.

  17. I could not figure out the sign either. Taco Bell, I use to frequent those places back in years past, but wouldn't have guessed it.
