Recycled Sign
Sometimes a business will use the same sign that was left on a building by the previous owner. Anybody want to guess what this sign used to say? The distinctive shape should be familiar to most Americans.
I don't think I have ever tried an cheese steak.
ReplyDeleteAs for the previous I will have to leave that to the locals.
Great sign, sky and photo!
ReplyDeleteI also have never had a Philly cheese steak, and my office is just a few blocks from this sign.
ReplyDeleteThis sign is not familiar to me, but the photo looks very good!
ReplyDeleteCan't guess on the sign, but a cheese steak sounds interesting.
ReplyDeleteI think I might prefer the "Honey Bear BBQ" behind this establishment. Or is it the same place"
ReplyDeleteGood eye, Kate! They are two different places but, I agree, the Honey Bear BBQ is great!
ReplyDeletezing, great sign
ReplyDeleteIt's an old Taco Bell sign! I used to work across the street at the U-Haul building.
ReplyDeleteThe only thing that comes to mind is Taco Bell. I guess I haven't been paying attention to my surroundings.
ReplyDeleteRandy wins! Yes, it is the old style Taco Bell sign. It probably fits well with the Philly steak place. They can say it's the Liberty Bell.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad the puzzle was solved before I got here Sharon, I wouldn't have had any idea..Well done Randy1
ReplyDeleteWe lived in the Philly area for several years in the 70s...that's where I learned to love Philly cheese steak sandwiches.
ReplyDeleteRe the sign, I dunno: "Bob's Big Boy"? Let's see, it has a bell: ah..."Ding-a-lings eat here"?
I would never have guessed Taco Bell--I guess I'm dating myself now!
ReplyDeletemmmmm Philly cheese steak. boy i miss them.... can someone airmail me one to the UK.
ReplyDeleteHope you can take the time to follow along with my blog

I thought of Taco Bell because of the bell shape but have no idea what a cheese steak is.
ReplyDeleteBefore I got to Randy's comment, I had decided it must be a Taco Bell sign. But it's not one I'm very familiar with. I love how they recycled it.
ReplyDeleteI am sure relieved that Randy got Taco Bell before it was time for me to comment. I didn't have any idea. Guess I don't frequent TB very often.
ReplyDeleteI could not figure out the sign either. Taco Bell, I use to frequent those places back in years past, but wouldn't have guessed it.
ReplyDeleteGlad the sign has been reused, it's so cool and reminds me of the 50's.
