This sculpture is the creation of artist Lyle London and is located at an office building in the mid-town area. The building houses the local headquarters of the Drug Enforcement Administration but, I didn't see any relationship between that and this sculpture. When I found this sculpture, I had never heard of Lyle London but after doing some research I've learned that he is a well know sculptor with pieces located all over the world. One of his most famous pieces is located in Liverpool England and is a tribute to John Lennon. It's called Peace and Harmony and
you can see it here. It is beautiful!
Great reflections Sharon, it's an attractive piece of sculpture, I like the smooth shiny curves. Was interesting to see the piece dedicated to John Lennon also.
ReplyDeleteHey Sharon, this looks very beautiful! Great sculptures and fantastic photo!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great photo!
ReplyDeleteI think there is some irony in the same artist being used to decorate a John Lennon Memorial and a Drug Enforcement Administration building.
ReplyDeleteHad to laugh at Dave's comment...very ironic!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the link; the Peace and Harmony sculpture is terrific. When I look at t he one you posted, I wonder about the inspiration. With Lennon's, the images and icons are very representative. With this one, I'm not sure?!
Thanks for that linked-look at Lennon today.
ReplyDeleteSmiled at Dave's comment also. I like this sculpture the smoothness of the sculpture is quite appealing with the shape. Great reflection.
ReplyDeleteThis one is beautiful too and the reflection in all that glass is a bonus!
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful, also. I would name it Harmony as it looks like two creatures moving in synch. Nicely photographed, too.
ReplyDeleteWanted to let you know I've deactivated my FB account...I just don't have the time to keep it going...
Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Very nice image and sculpture too. I think it looks like a wishbone. Perhaps the DEA is down to wishbones to try to stem the flow of drugs into this country:) .
ReplyDeleteIt's a very fluid piece, but I don't quite get it. Love the reflection in the window...so it's more like a Quad than a Duo. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat shot! Too bad I missed the piece in Liverpool.
ReplyDeleteInteresting piece. Almost looks like you could sit on it.
ReplyDeleteInteresting! The Arizona sculpture reminds me of bones. I like its smooth, arcing shape more than that of the very literal John Lennon sculpture -- but the latter is nice too, and with John Lennon's name attached to it, it can't be bad!
ReplyDeleteBravo, Sharon. Your art of photography is amazing.
