Mansion newly built

Last summer I had a picture of a large mansion under construction.  You can see the original post here.  I've driven by a couple of times during the past year and observed that the home was still under construction.  Finally last weekend, I drove by again and saw the the home was done with the exception of the landscaping.  The yard still needs a little work.  It's a grand looking house, a little too ostentatious for my taste.

  1. It looks like they like Victorian architecture, with round turrets and a pointed roofline, but that they wanted the house to be all on one story, rather than trying to keep a second story cool in the Phoenix heat. Also, I count four chimneys, so they must have at least four fireplaces.

The good news is that this house helped kept some construction workers employed during this poor economy.

  2. Ostentatious is a good word to use, but despite that, wouldn't you love to see the interior? I would!

  3. It's gorgeous. And I love the turrets. But I would not want to pay the electric bill! Must be 5,000 square feet or more! I guess if you can afford such a house you don't have to worry about electric bills. Beautiful shot, Sharon!

  4. That really is a big home Sharon, I hope there is a big family living there. Here in Perth you quite often get couples living in these huge homes, with no furniture because they can't afford it, just for the 'address'. Give me a normal, comfy home anyday!

  8. It sure took a while to construct. In this economy, I would have thought they could have found the workers to get it up much faster. It is a bit bigger than I like, but I am tall and like high ceilings and enough space to spread out.

  11. I agree with you as to the house being a little too ostentatious, but it's great anyway. I guess the interiors are fantastic.
