Sing High has been a popular downtown restaurant for over 80 years and it's still going strong. It's located between the busy sports arenas and the equally busy court buildings so there is a little bit of traffic from both venues. I believe I ate here once a very long time ago; so long in fact that I can't remember if I liked it or not. I did look up the online reviews and it was pretty much a mixed bag of "wow, wonderful" and "I'll never eat there again". Have any of my local readers eaten there? If you have, let me know what you thought.
I used to eat there a lot in the 1980's when I worked 2 blocks away, but I have not eaten there in about 15 years or so. I cannot comment on it today, but back then it was not fine dining, but served reliable Chinese food promptly.
ReplyDeleteI used to eat there frequently back in the 1980s when I worked near Third Street and Thomas. In those days traffic and parking wasn't much of a problem and there were very few eating establishments in downtown so my officemates and I headed down that way at least once a week. I was never particularly fond of the food although it was quick, hot, and lots of it. One of my neighbors in Phoenix still goes there periodically with members of her family. They've been regulars for about 55 years!
ReplyDeleteStrange but interestig building, Art Deco and chinese stuff.
ReplyDeleteI think the food can't be that bad Sharon if they've been in business for 80 years, you'll have to have a 'refresher' meal.
ReplyDeleteAsian food? Give it a whirl. Live dangerously.
ReplyDeleteI don't even remember the place! Thanks for stopping by. I was out with some knee surgery but am recovering OK. Hope all is well with you!
ReplyDeleteFunny in all of the years that I lived there I never knew anyone who had anything good to say about the place so I never tried it. Go for it Sharon and then report back.
ReplyDeleteI'm not familiar with it, but it must have something going for it since it's been there for 80 years.
ReplyDeleteFunny, being in the valley for almost 40 years that I have never seen this restaurant. I must try it out.
ReplyDeleteDon't know about the food, but I am loving that Art Deco building!
ReplyDeleteSharon this sounds like is a loaded question. I see some challenges.
ReplyDeleteThis just begs for the opportunity to see its sister restaurant, Sing Low.
