Sanctuary

Back in March, I posted a photo of the steeple of the First Presbyterian Church in downtown Phoenix.  You can see it here.  I took this photo of the entrance to the church the same day.

  4. Wow! That's quite an ornate entrance. It reminds me of the windows JM posted yesterday. I enlarged the photo to look at the doors but I was struck by the sensual figures at the top. Pretty sexy for the church unless they intended to celebrate fecundity/

  7. Yes, Kate said just what I was thinking. It looks like one of JM's shots! This is another one that doesn't make me think of Phoenix style. I can imagine a bride posing by the door. Beautiful!

  8. Yes, the entrance is ornate, but when I clicked to enlarge, the lines the stones make it quite interesting, too. Great shot.

  11. In my life, it always seems I'm seeking sanctuary. This looks like a wonderful place to find it.

  12. I'm loving all this bricks (or stones?) surrounding the door (which, to me, looks foreboding). They have such gorgeous color!

  13. Great entrance. Makes the entry really ceremonial.
