Bragg’s Pie Factory

Phoenix has its own flat-iron style building!  Braggs Pie Factory, was just that…a pie factory until 1962.  The building has seen many tenants come and go but, it was recently refurbished is now used as a special art space.  It was built to accommodate Bragg’s bakery in 1946 in a design called the “International Style.”

  3. Nice shot of an interesting building- it looks very 1930s Art Deco but I guess that is carried through to the 1940s in this case.

  6. Great post, Sharon. Wish the world contained more "pie factories" where they really made and sold pies.

  8. I like the shape of it. Kind of like a slice of pie.

  9. After the Tracy's "slice of pie" it is now a slice of Art. Good that they maintained the building as it was.

  13. I just love buildings like that! And this one is so unique...I love those tall windows. Plus, those pink plants make a nice touch.

  16. Grand Ave? I used to admire this building during First Fridays and often thought it would make a great art space.

  17. That looks vaguely familiar...I lived in Phoenix from 1949-50 to 1953...and then again from 1959 to 1965. It's a wonderful structure and I'm so glad it has been renovated and put to good use!
