Bragg’s Pie Factory
Phoenix has its own flat-iron style building! Braggs Pie Factory, was just that…a pie factory until 1962. The building has seen many tenants come and go but, it was recently refurbished is now used as a special art space. It was built to accommodate Bragg’s bakery in 1946 in a design called the “International Style.”
What a great design. Great for pies and art.

ReplyDeleteNice shot of an interesting building- it looks very 1930s Art Deco but I guess that is carried through to the 1940s in this case.

This is a cool old building. Can't you just imagine all the mouth-watering pies that must have been available in its day!
ReplyDeleteIt is an interesting little building. It would be a good showplace for art.
ReplyDeleteGreat post, Sharon. Wish the world contained more "pie factories" where they really made and sold pies.
ReplyDeleteI need to go try the pies from this great looking place
ReplyDeleteI like the shape of it. Kind of like a slice of pie.
ReplyDeleteAfter the Tracy's "slice of pie" it is now a slice of Art. Good that they maintained the building as it was.
ReplyDeleteThis is an interesting looking building. I like that the pie sign is still there.
ReplyDeleteI like art...but, right now, I want pie.
What a neat find! Pie? I like pie!
ReplyDeleteThe building looks very sleek and modern; must have been a successful renovation.
ReplyDeleteI just love buildings like that! And this one is so unique...I love those tall windows. Plus, those pink plants make a nice touch.
ReplyDeletePerfect pie shape for a bakery. Love that style!
ReplyDeletenicely shaped building, i hope they have some nice meat pies there.
ReplyDeleteGrand Ave? I used to admire this building during First Fridays and often thought it would make a great art space.
ReplyDeleteThat looks vaguely familiar...I lived in Phoenix from 1949-50 to 1953...and then again from 1959 to 1965. It's a wonderful structure and I'm so glad it has been renovated and put to good use!
ReplyDeleteIt may not be a tall building but a flat-iron it is. :-) Very cool!
