A new pad has grown on this prickly pear cactus.  Those thorns are not quite so intimidating when they are babies.

  1. Fantastic!

I can't see the photo, but clicked on the dot and it shows, just like what happened on my blog yesterday. Blogger is crazier and crazier!

  2. I've reposted the photo and now it appears but, the photo looks a little distorted to me. Sorry, not sure what is wrong.

  3. If distorted, Sharon, it remains interesting. I like the colour tones.

  5. That's amazing. It looks nothing like what it's going to end up...couldn't come up with a good way to word that. But what an unusual look it has! Go macro!

  7. Like all babies, cute. But in a little while it will be nice and green and sharp.

  10. Is this the cactus that sticks you and then swells up inside your skin?

I always thought that was something that was an evolutionary mistake!

    Pretty, though!

They also have beautiful pastel colors... so very delicate.
