The Blob
One of the more humorous exhibits at the Phoenix Art Museum is Blob by artist Tony Oursler. It is a sort of video display of a face with a few missing features and eyes that are out of sync with each other. There is a seat in front of it so you can watch it for a while. It sits there in a corner speaking to whoever might stop by.
Not sure if that is cute or creepy. It is mesmerising though!
ReplyDeleteI think it's rather cute. Looks sorta like my eyes sometimes!
ReplyDeleteI'd like to see that one myself!
ReplyDeleteWhat does it say?
ReplyDeleteThis is so cool, Sharon! Love the mosaic.
ReplyDeleteIt makes me dizzy.
ReplyDeleteI hope that at night when I get home from work I don't look like the face on the lower right.
ReplyDeleteI don't think Steve McQueen would have felt this one was a threat to the city.
ReplyDeleteWell, the one in the lower right looks just like me when I wake up in the morning, before coffee.
ReplyDeleteTrés amusant!
ReplyDeleteTracy asks in the first comment if this is creepy. The correct answer is Yes!

ReplyDeleteOur favorite line was "I'm not The Blob. I just look like him."
