Building for the view
I’ve had pictures of “the praying monk” rock formation on Camelback Mountain before, but this time we see a home under construction in the shadow of this Phoenix landmark. This house will have some amazing views when it’s done.
I agree with the three comments above. I thought that they had stopped allowing people to build up on Camelback Mountain, but there have been some new homes built there recently. Julie was commenting that from our bedroom looking up at Camelback at night there are now more lights shining on the mountain.
yes, there seems to be more construction occurring on Camelback Mountain. I now have three people in new homes who leave their lights on all night long. Nobody did that before so it is very annoying.
I wonder if who this is for? It's true, if people keep building homes like this there will be no more amazing views left. The photo is great. I hope you take another when it's finished.
Great mountain - too bad it is being encroached on by the homes. Is there no land use regulation to prevent that? Is this part of the city or outside in the countryside?
And it looks as if the design will harmonize with the setting.
ReplyDeleteThe zoning laws must be very generous. Surprised that it appears to be so close to the natural setting.
ReplyDeleteHello Sharon, the setting is fabulous but I tend to agree with Kate....
ReplyDeleteOh this needs to stop. They will ruin that beautiful mountain if they keep allowing people to build homes on it.
ReplyDeleteI love Praying Monk rock.

ReplyDeleteThe light is great on your photo, highlighting the mountain while putting the construction project in the shadows.
ReplyDeleteI love the light in this picture! Nice capture. I agree with everyone on the building of houses on the mountain.
